Candijay Carries on with Founding Anniversary Opening Activities Despite TD Queenie’s Threat
The Local Government Unit of Candijay, Bohol still proceeded with the first day scheduled activities of its three-day founding anniversary celebration despite the havoc which Tropical Depression Queenie caused to some of its barangays, recently this 27th day of November 2014.
Mayor Christopher B. Tutor decided to push through with it despite the odd incident as not to have the long preparation be put to waste. Aside from that, the guests for said event had already arrived. However, the typhoon victims were not being disregarded as some authorized employees were tasked to assist them in their needs.
A parade participated by the players of the inter-barangay basketball and volleyball teams, the barangay officials and some employees of the Local Government Unit was then started when the typhoon-borne rain subsided on said day. It was followed by a short awarding ceremony of the Basketball league which formally opened the said series of activities.
A distribution of shoes to some identified recipients from every barangays out of the “AYOS” program of Senator Juan Edgardo “Sonny”was also rendered by his office representative, Mr. Trygve Olaivar, assisted by Mayor Christopher B. Tutor and Vice Mayor Jesse M. Sales, during the said program.
Right after the awarding activity were the championship competition for Volleyball Men and Women Division and the Volleyball Exhibition Game between the University of Bohol and Bohol Institute of Technology.
